Does The Money Expirs?
Does Spartan Cash expire?
Spartan Cash is money that you can add onto your Student ID that is above and beyond the Flex Dollars that come with your meal plan. Both Flex Dollars and Spartan Cash carry over from Fall to Spring Semester. Flex expires at the end of the Spring semester, Spartan Cash does not.
What is Spartan Cash?
Spartan Cash is a form of currency that can be added to a student's ID card at Manchester University. It is separate from the Flex Dollars that come with the meal plan and can be used at various locations on campus, including dining facilities, vending machines, and campus stores.
Expiration of Flex Dollars
Flex Dollars are a part of the meal plan and carry over from the Fall semester to the Spring semester. However, they expire at the end of the Spring semester, meaning any unused Flex Dollars will be forfeited and cannot be used in the following semester.
Expiration of Spartan Cash
Unlike Flex Dollars, Spartan Cash does not expire at the end of the Spring semester. Any remaining Spartan Cash will carry over to the next semester and can continue to be used until the student graduates or leaves the university.
Adding Spartan Cash
Any student or faculty/staff member at Manchester University can add Spartan Cash to their account, even if they do not have a meal plan. It provides additional flexibility for purchases on campus and can be added online through the university's website.
Replacing Lost or Damaged ID Cards
If a student loses their Manchester Student ID card, they must report it to the university's Security Office. There is a replacement fee of $25 for a lost card, but if the card is damaged or mutilated, a replacement will be issued at no charge. It is important to carry the ID card at all times for access to dining facilities and other campus services.
Guest Access and Spartan Cash
While the meal plan is intended for individual use, guests can be accommodated using either Flex Dollars or Spartan Cash. Students can purchase a meal for their guests using their account funds, providing a convenient option for hosting visitors on campus.
Importance of Carrying the Student ID
For safety and security reasons, it is necessary to carry the student ID at all times. Access to dining facilities requires presenting the ID card to the cashier. In the event of a lost or misplaced ID card, it is the student's responsibility to find or replace it in order to continue accessing meal plan benefits.
Quench Beverage Program
The Quench program is a VIP beverage program available to students, faculty, and staff. More information about this program can be found at Haist Commons, one of the dining facilities on campus.
